Philanthropy and community involvement have long been hallmarks of Nor’wood, as we believe our culture depends on both to provide the essential tools of a civil society. To that end, we support numerous local charities and non-profit organizations through our time, talent and financial resources, with the hope our combined actions will help make this a better community for all.

Our Focus

Nor’wood is committed helping the Colorado Springs community by focusing our giving in a few select areas, specifically to the arts, youth and families in need.

  • We have an unwavering commitment to the arts, acknowledging them as a cultural force and invaluable asset to any community.
  • We endeavor to create opportunity for today’s youth as they are tomorrow’s leaders.
  • And we’re devoted to championing organizations working to support local families in need.

Guidelines for requesting support

Select standard restrictions on our giving policy include:

  • Individuals
  • Organizations located outside of or not benefiting the Colorado Springs community
  • Organizations with restrictions based on race, religion, creed, sex, age, veteran
    status, physical challenge or national origin
  • Organizations with goals which may conflict in any way with Nor’wood’s mission,
    goals, programs, products, services or employees

Organizations eligible for support by Nor’wood

Nor’wood makes charitable contributions to non-profit organizations under the Section 501(c)(3) status as described in the U.S. Internal Revenue Code, schools, or public agencies. In general, support is granted to specific programs in the three focus categories described above.

One proposal per organization per year will be considered if it meets the guidelines outlined above. (This should include all of an organization’s needs for a 12-month period.)

Upon granting of a contribution, Nor’wood will require a copy of the IRS exemption letter verifying 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status or sufficient documentation verifying a governmental entity or educational institution.
