Steve Sharkey moved to Colorado Springs in late 1981 and has been engaged as a principle in various large-scale real estate development projects here.
These include major office building, land development and apartment communities. Notable master–planned mixed-use projects include the 1200-acre Northgate Corporate Village and the 3500-acre Cheyenne Mountain Ranch communities. Steve drove large corporate campus sales to FedEx, Oracle, Progressive Insurance, Compassion International and numerous others, as well as sold developed residential sites to US Home, Richmond Homes, among others.
While developing several large suburban office buildings, Steve also leased multiple full-floors to FedEx, IBM, GE, General Dynamics, ATT, and many others. Steve joined Nor–wood in 2006 and has been since been focused upon developing several 260-unit suburban apartment communities as well as office and industrial buildings.
The culture at Nor-wood includes very active involvement in enhancing the community of Colorado Springs for the benefit of all its citizens. Steve has been an officer and/or a member of the Boards of numerous organizations such as the Economic Development Corporation, he El Pomar Youth Sports Complex, the Colorado Springs School, Young Life, and others. Steve hails from coastal Orange County, California and holds a BS in Engineering from San Diego State University. He enjoys travel, (both for cultural and mission reasons), reading, bike riding and hiking and other outdoor activities.
